    Fatty fish such as salmon.

As we get older it is important to consume and have omega-3. Salmon is a great source of this fatty gem. Not only that but it is also good for our skin. If you want a healthy glow, eat salmon, mackerel, and halibut. Plus you’ll load up on super good  sources of omega-3.

The good fat. It’s buttery, creamy and so good. Avocados are excellent in almost everything. Whether you like it in guacamole, or you like it in slices, wraps, sushi or whatever. Avocado is a great source to help you feel and look your best.

        Sweet potatoes

A recipe that I love to use for sweet potatoes is as follows

        1 cup lentils

        ½ onion

        1 diced carrot (small)

1 large roasted sweet potato (cube and roast in oven for 25 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste)

28oz can of whole or crushed tomatoes

Paprika, cumin, coriander, salt and pepper

Cook the carrot for about 10 min. Add the parprika, cumin, coriander and onions to a pot. Cook the onions till translucent, about 10 min.

Add the can of tomatoes, season with a good dash of salt and pepper. Allow to come to a boil then reduce heat, cook for about 10 min. When finished, add the lentals and the sweet potato, enjoy.

Yummy foods to achieve a healthy glow-continued

          Broccoli

          Tomatoes

I have been eating tomatoes and onions all my life. There is nothing i love more than the combination of sauteed onions and grilled tomatoes. Except for sundried tomatoes and onions with artichokes.

But, I’m getting ahead of myself.

          Dark chocolate

Did you really need an excuse to eat dark chocolate? Or any chocolate?

          Blueberries

          My favorite smoothie for blueberries.

          1 cup blueberries

          1 cup of raspberries

          1 frozen banana

1 cup of vanilla or plain yogurt

          1 tbsp cocoa powder

          Handful of spinach or avocado

          Some ice

Slash or two of your favorite milk

          Blend.

          Kale

I am not a big fan of kale, but if cooked using the right recipe can give you a tasty dish. I’ve seen a few on the Food Network but the one that I think might be a winner is from  Trisha Yearwood. Here is what she did, with my modifications.

          Salad:

          Kale (handful)

Grilled onions 1 whole small onion or 1/2 of a medium onion

          Tomatoes (I perfer cherry)

          Avocado 1/2

          Your choice of seeds (handful)

          Feta cheese 1/4 cup

Homemade dressing-2 tablespoons lemon juice, olive oil, dijon mustard.

          chickpeas(baked) 1/4 cup

          Mix everything together and enjoy.
